Aranea diadema (Aran.)

Aranea diadema (Aran.) appears in the repertory in 70 rubrics. Of these, four are single-remedy rubrics in which only this remedy is listed, and two are small rubrics with at most two other remedies.

Delusions of Hearing and Body

Delusions are most frequent, with ten rubrics. A single-remedy rubric describes speaking that appears as if from a great distance, another an enlarged forearm. A third single-remedy rubric links threat with men. Fear, threatening, and being threatened are recorded in several rubrics.

Sadness and Thinking

Sadness is represented with five rubrics, connected with not leaving the bed. Confusion, Irritability, and Restlessness follow with four or five rubrics each. A small rubric records "interrupted thinking", another the fear of being threatened.

Summary

The picture combines delusions of hearing and of the body with sadness, fear of threat, and interrupted thinking. The single-remedy rubrics on speech, arm, and threat are the distinct features. The frequent main rubrics remain widespread.

All rubrics of this remedy, the materia medica and the case work are in Rathmer’s Repertory.
