Arundo mauritanica (Arund.)

Arundo mauritanica (Arund.) appears in 43 rubrics in the Repertorium. Of these, 1 is a single rubric in which only this remedy is listed, and there are no small rubrics with at most two other remedies. Most entries fall under Children, and also under Anxiety, Thoughts, Laughing and Cheerfulness. The picture is that of a mobile, cheerful and at the same time anxious mind.

Cheerfulness and anxiety

Two moods stand side by side. Laughing, cheerfulness and mirth are recorded several times, as are fancies and imaginations; opposite them stand anxiety, indifference and apathy. Striking is the only single rubric, which ties a physical cause to the anxiety: "Anxiety – mucus accumulation in the bronchi, from". The anxiety is thus linked here to breathing, as are the two entries on aphonia. Children make up the largest block, joined by Sexuality and rubrics on Thoughts, without a line of their own emerging.

Summary

The Repertorium draws a mind in which gaiety and anxiety lie close to each other and in which the anxiety comes forth through the airways. The thin data do not permit any further interpretation.

All rubrics of this remedy, the materia medica and the case work are in Rathmer’s Repertory.
