Repertory › Remedies in the repertory
Cannabis sativa (Cann-s.)
Cannabis sativa (Cann-s.) appears in 412 rubrics in the Repertory. Of these, 15 are single-remedy rubrics in which only this remedy is listed, and 17 are small rubrics with at most two other remedies. The main emphasis is on Delusions, followed by Rage, Unconsciousness and Speech. The picture is of a person from whom the self and reality slip away and in whom speech and sense of time are swept along.
Control by others
At the center is the loss of one's own core. Listed only here is the delusion "Delusions – power – evil power has control over his whole being," even beyond the reach of his own willpower. When speaking it seems as if someone else were speaking, and this other says what one says oneself. The head could fall in all directions, and the senses vanish. This can be read as the experience of being occupied from within.
Detached experience of reality
Reality itself shifts. The nose appears enlarged, everything unreal, and time passes too slowly, particularly during hemorrhage after delivery. The person does not know where he is on waking from a terrible dream. Beside this the Repertory lists a liveliness as if the person were intoxicated.
Rage and laughing
Rage occurs alternating with weeping, with weeping or with spitting. Laughing is also listed, for example with cyanosis. Added are a haste that appears during chill, and capriciousness in the forenoon and the afternoon.
Speech
Speech can become difficult with pain in the back. Even anxiety on raising the voice is listed. Thinking is dull, concentration is difficult.
Summary
The Repertory draws a picture of dissolved boundaries: will, voice and reality no longer fully belong to the person, and the mood swings between rage, weeping and laughing.
