Fagopyrum esculentum (Fago.)
Fagopyrum esculentum (Fago.) appears in 65 rubrics in the Repertory. Of these, four are single rubrics in which only this remedy appears, and four are small rubrics with at most two other remedies.
Mental exertion and work
Restlessness is the largest group with thirteen rubrics. Mental exertion follows with eight, Work with five rubrics. Several single rubrics record an aversion to mental exertion and to business that shows itself in the forenoon, in part until 11 a.m. One small rubric describes mental activity in the morning and another at night around 5 a.m.
Night and concentration
Restlessness at night is recorded as a single rubric, with restlessness after midnight until about 3 or 4 a.m. Concentration, Confusion and Memory are each recorded with two to three rubrics.
Summary
The picture is determined by the contrast between restlessness and mental work. In the forenoon an aversion to exertion appears, at night a restlessness that extends into the early morning hours. The single rubrics are the most distinctive feature.
All rubrics of this remedy, the materia medica and the case work are in Rathmer’s Repertory.
