Ginseng (Gins.)
Ginseng (Gins.) appears in 53 rubrics in the Repertory. None are single rubrics and none are small rubrics; all entries share the remedy with many others. The data are therefore thin and describe no peculiarity but a selection of general rubrics. They accumulate in Fear, Anxiety, Delirium and Sexuality.
Fear, haste and work
The fear is directed at riding in a carriage, at accidents and misfortune; a contraction in the chest triggers anxiety. Corresponding to this is an inner haste that shows in the movements. Mental exertion aggravates or is even impossible, and there is aversion to work and to thinking.
Opposing traits
On the other side stand courage, contentment, serenity and a feeling of lightness. Together with several rubrics on sexuality, including satyriasis and weakness after coition, a field of tension emerges between drive and exhaustion.
Summary
What can be recognized is a restless, impulsive person whose strength and contentment alternate with fear and aversion to work. For reliable statements, specific rubrics are lacking.
All rubrics of this remedy, the materia medica and the case work are in Rathmer’s Repertory.
