Mercurialis perennis (Merl.)

Mercurialis perennis (Merl.) appears in 65 rubrics in the Repertory. Of these, three are single-remedy rubrics in which only this remedy is listed, and four are small rubrics with at most two other remedies.

Delusions of the Head and Face

With ten rubrics, Delusions is the most frequent main rubric. The three single-remedy rubrics relate to the head and nose: the head is swollen, the nose appears double, and the person has two noses. A small rubric records sleepiness as a delusion.

Stupefaction and Confusion

Stupefaction and benumbed are recorded with five rubrics, as is confusion of mind. Three small rubrics concern the warm room, in which the benumbed state increases or decreases. Indifference, Work, and Hurry have two or three rubrics each.

Summary

The picture combines delusions about the head with stupefaction and confusion that appear in the warm room. The single-remedy rubrics on the nose are the most distinctive feature. The main rubrics are often shared with other remedies.

All rubrics of this remedy, the materia medica and the case work are in Rathmer’s Repertory.
