Repertory › Remedies in the repertory
Scorpio europaeus (Scor.)
Scorpio europaeus (Scor.) appears in 34 rubrics in the repertory. There are no single-remedy rubrics and no small rubrics with at most two other remedies. The entries are broadly distributed; most frequent are indifference and dullness, each in the image of the person who looks out of the window for hours. Alongside stand matter-of-factness, responsibility, and defiance. The data are thin.
Absence and Sobriety
Looking out of the window appears four times, in indifference and dullness. Opposed to it stands an explicit sobriety: being matter-of-fact, reasonable, and objective is recorded in several phrasings, and responsibility is taken seriously, in part as over-responsible. Respect and admiration are directed at the environment.
Defiance and Vulnerability
Alongside this appears a more violent side: defiance, challenging, breaking and throwing things about, as well as fanaticism. Opposed to it stand vulnerability, self-pity, mildness, compassion, and affection; a feeling of being forsaken is also recorded. One can see in this a person who carries hardness and softness side by side.
Summary
The picture remains contradictory: withdrawal and matter-of-factness on one side, defiance and violence on the other, together with an open vulnerability. The small number of rubrics precludes a firmer drawing.
All rubrics of this remedy, the materia medica and the case work are in Rathmer’s Repertory.
