Thyroidinum (Thyr.)

Thyroidinum (Thyr.) appears in 103 rubrics in the Repertorium. Of these, five are single-remedy rubrics in which only this remedy is listed, and two are small rubrics with at most two other remedies. The Children rubrics are the strongest group with fifteen main rubrics, followed by Sadness with seven and Delusions with five.

Children and weeping

The Children rubrics form the main emphasis. A single-remedy rubric describes weeping with undressing, another weeping when being undressed. Gestures are represented with four rubrics.

Restlessness and stupor

Restlessness and stupor occur in a single-remedy rubric alternating with sadness. Another single-remedy rubric links stupor with the change to restlessness. Irritability is recorded with four rubrics.

Laughing and euphoria

Laughing appears in a single-remedy rubric as peculiar, in a way that strikes the person herself. Euphoria and quarrelsomeness alternate and are each recorded in a small rubric.

Summary

In the rubrics, Thyroidinum is characterized above all by the Children themes, supplemented by an alternation between restlessness and stupor and between euphoria and quarrelsomeness. The five single-remedy rubrics show that this alternation is the actual pattern of the remedy.

All rubrics of this remedy, the materia medica and the case work are in Rathmer’s Repertory.
